INEC ANNOUNCES POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTION IN SOME POLLING UNITS.

The ongoing voting process have been progressing in some units whereas some others are experiencing challenges: slow process, failure of the card readers etc.Hence, inec receiving their monitoring reports in their alerts made the announcement some moments ago that the election continues tomorrow sunday 29th march 2015.See details below;

      The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to the critical     situation with the inability of many people to vote during today.

Read the latest statement published via the official handle @INECAlert moments ago:

The INEC has been monitoring field reports on the accreditation process since commencement this morning.

Whereas the process has gone well in several places, in some others it has encountered some challenges, especially because of the card readers.

Consequently, the accreditation has been slow in many places and has not commenced at all in some others.

Even though the guidelines for the 2015 general elections provide that where card readers fail to work and cannot be replaced, elections in such polling units will be postponed to the next day.

The scale of the challenge we have observed has necessitated a reconsideration of the provision of the guidelines.

The commission has therefore decided that in the polling units where card readers fail to work, the Presiding Officer shall manually accredit voters.

The Presiding Officer shall mark the voters register upon being satisfied that the person presenting a PVC is the owner.

Notwithstanding, in PUs where accreditation was suspended to the next day in accordance with the guidelines arrangements will be made for voters to vote tomorrow, subject to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010.

The commission reassures the public that it will thoroughly investigate what happened while it stays committed to credible elections.

A SEARCH FOR HOPE

       Ever wondered why, there are no two people with same xteristics or features. Thats because We are not born the same,in our manner of speech, dressin, movement,approach to life issues. Often times, we believe that we can be better than others, but a deep reflection on who we were years back and now simply shows that God is faithful and how well we are progressing. Hence,It is time to pause and reflect. Then we will learn to appreciate ourselves, become motivated,maximize our potentials and become whom are created to be-to positively affect our world.Every man has a beautiful place God had designed for him.All we need do is to work towards it knowing fully well that Hardwork pays alot. And someone who is diligent will surely dine and wine with Kings.The key thing to note is that''When preparation meets opportunity'', then good success becomes our breakthrough, so be encouraged.

The okurukaka ceremony is the final and highest stage of the traditional marriage rites in okrika. It is believed that every lady must "Tie the okuru" only once in her lifetime.After that, she is only committed to her husband till death  and cannot remarry. It commands respect on both couple especially from the community, even amongst the women folks.The woman is expected to wait at her parents house while her husband comes to meet her there ,After the necessary family rites/fees are paid to the kobo. Note: If the husband is latee, the first son can stand in as the man(husband). Then the marriage certificate is signed by the husband,wife,a witness or two,the father of the husband,the mother of the wife.There is also buyin and selling of goods among the families. Accordin to history, the woman then ties the okuru on her waist with a bare chest and walks though the marketsquare on bare foot with a procession of singers.However, due to christianity and modernization,the wife dresses fully, the priest prays for both couple for God's blessings.Then, she ties"the okuru", walks to her husband's family house through the market to meet her mother-in-law, for more blessings.Pictures are then taken with family members and invitees.Here below, are luvly pictures of my mother in her okurukaka occasion.
