By Sodiq Adekunle, Osogbo   Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Thursday were angry over the absence of Vice-Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.   Osinbajo was expected to speak ‎in a campus interactive session organised by OAU Campus Connect Initiative to enable him address members of the OAU community  on why they should vote for APC.   The programme, which was scheduled for 10 am did not start until 12.30pm.   The mammoth crowd comprising majorly of students left angrily, shouting 'NO' when they were told that Osibanjo would not be coming.   The vacation of students left the over 2,000 seaters capacity hall, which was initially filled up, to almost being empty with about 150 students.   It was gathered that most of the students hissed out and put on  frowning ‎faces and walked out on the person, expected to represent Osinbajo.   According to the aggrieved students, they had sacrificed their academics for the APC candidate but were 'disappointed'.   One of them, identified simply as Jude said the absence of Osinbajo made him unhappy.   "I am one of those that have been canvassing people to come for the interactive session only to hear that he is not coming. This is embarrassing and I am really unhappy with it," he said.   Another students added, "Almost everyone is angry. We stabbed our classes and felt that we should honour him with our presence but he fumbled. You can imagine the large turn-out of students ‎that came.    "The hall was filled up and some people will have to stand will the increasing turnout. He really needs to apologise to the students. A lot of people are really very angry and dissapointed, I must tell you."   ‎During his lecture, Dr. Dotun Ogunyemi‎, one of the representative of Osinbajo assured the students that the educational sector in the country would advance if APC is voted into power.   He counselled the students to disregard the allegations that APC presidential candidates, Muhammad Buhari was not qualified to contest.   He said, "Our education system is lagging behind and that accounts for the reason why a lot of people find it difficult to gain admission. Osinbajo says I should tell you that when APC gets to power, education will be given a pivotal attention.   "Buhari is qualified and we should not be made to vote on religious or ethnic sentiment. He has met up with the constitutional requirement and will contest."
